IME-GME
Direct Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Indirect Medical Education (IME) payments represented nearly $9 billion in reimbursement for teaching hospitals in fiscal year 2008. HPS has identified that, in many cases, teaching hospitals are leaving significant IME/GME dollars they are entitled to on the table. HPS works with its clients to identify opportunities for increasing their IME/GME payments.
Through an in-depth review of hospital data and by leveraging proprietary software and audit procedures, we are able to focus in on primary areas of opportunity for enhancing IME/GME payments. Once our analysis is complete, HPS handles all tasks related to ensuring that the payment increases are handled in a timely and efficient manner. This includes documentation of all relevant data, monitoring of pertinent deadlines, and verification of IME/GME payments on all subsequent claims.
